Firstbeat is excited to announce the release of four new Samsung products with Firstbeat’s next-generation body analytics technology inside. The new smart phone GALAXY S 5 and wearable devices Gear Fit, Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo were released at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona yesterday.
Samsung GALAXY S5 is a new addition to the Samsung smart phone family. The S Health application provides real-time feedback & guidance helping its user to reach their training goals. The app also measures workouts and interprets their effectiveness on aerobic fitness. The smart device automatically personalizes the data as it takes into account the user’s training history and fitness level. For measurement the application needs a heart rate sensor.
Firstbeat’s analytics in Samsung Gear Fit, Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo wearable devices provide personalized real-time information on the progress and results of your workout by deploying the device’s optical wrist worn heart rate sensor. The feedback is also available when connecting the new Samsung GALAXY S5 with a heart rate sensor.
"The technology analyzes how your body is actually working, and offers user-friendly feedback for improving your physical fitness, tailored to your own level. No more guesswork, the product will for example tell whether your exercise is sufficient to maintain or improve your fitness level," says Aki Pulkkinen, Director of Consumer Technologies at Firstbeat.
“All you need to do is exercise the way you like and track your heartbeat. The device with Firstbeat analytics coaches you personally”, notes Joni Kettunen, CEO at Firstbeat.
In addition to the new products Samsung also has already been utilizing Firstbeat’s technology in the S Health app in Galaxy S4 and Samsung Note 3. Read more.
