Garmin’s Swim 2 is the long-awaited update to their aquatic product line. A lot has changed in the 7 years since the debut of the original Garmin Swim watch. One of the biggest changes is the introduction of new technologies for heart rate monitoring in the pool. While the original Swim watch focused on counting strokes, laps, and distance, the new Garmin Swim 2 offers both wrist-based optical HR monitoring and ECG-based HR monitoring options with a paired Garmin HRM-Swim or HRM-Tri chest belts.
The inclusion of heart rate monitoring means you can now see how hard you are working and unlocks the possibility of advanced performance insights and personalized training feedback.
Aerobic and Anaerobic Training Effect scores (0-5) combine to predict how each swim you record is likely to influence the development of future performance capacity. You can instantly identify which swims improved which capacities and how hard is hard enough to make a difference.
Training Effect Scores are personalized based on your activity history, means the insight you get will always make sense, regardless of your level.
Out of the water, the Garmin Swim 2 can help you understand how your body responds to the challenges of life and environment. Keep tabs on your stress levels around the clock with All-day Stress tracking. This insight goes to the next level with Body Battery, which brings stress, recovery, the effects of physical activity, and the restorative power of sleep together in a single, easy to follow way.
