Speakers

Dr. Georgia Brown

Dr. Georgia Brown (PhD) is an NSCA-accredited sport scientist with San Diego Wave FC in the NWSL, bringing expertise in applied sports science and athlete performance, with a focus on female football (soccer). She previously worked with the Australian women’s national football teams (the Matildas), supporting the squad through the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2024 Paris Olympics, and earlier contributed to the Youth teams (U17, U20, and U23). 

Georgia completed her PhD on menstrual health and how the menstrual cycle influences performance, recovery, and sleep in football players. Her research experience also includes training load monitoring, wellness, and academy football, with publications available here

Dr. Dawn Scott

Dr. Dawn Scott has over 25 years’ experience in women’s football, focused in high-performance sports science and leadership. She is currently a high-performance consultant and founder of Dawn Scott Elite Performance Consulting Ltd (www.dawnscottepc.com).   

She has been a Technical Expert for FIFA since 2015 as well as a Global High-Performance Innovator, with past roles including Performance Director at Inter Miami CF and Global Director of Performance across clubs worldwide.  

As Head of Performance for the U.S. Women’s National Team for a decade, she supported three FIFA Women’s World Cups and two Olympic Games. She also led performance for England’s women’s team across multiple major tournaments. Dr. Scott holds a PhD in elite female athlete training from Western Sydney University, along with master’s degrees in Sports Directorship and Sports Nutrition, and a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science. 

Dr. Nicole Surdyka

Nicole Surdyka, DPT, CSCS, CPSS, is a physical therapist and sport scientist specializing in athlete health, rehabilitation, and performance optimization in elite football environments. She has held leadership roles as Rehab Director with Seattle Reign FC and the Red Bull Athlete Performance Center and has served as a sport science consultant with the LA Galaxy.

Nicole currently works as a sports physical therapist with Phoenix Children’s Sports Medicine and is the founder of Femme Football Collective, an educational and professional development platform for medical and performance staff in women’s football. She is regularly invited to present at sports medicine and performance conferences around the world and consults with professional women’s football clubs on medical and performance strategies.

Nicole is also organizing the Soccer Performance Support Summit, bringing together practitioners from across disciplines to share evidence-based practices and innovations in athlete care and performance. Her work bridges rehabilitation, sport science, and applied performance to support sustainable athlete availability and long-term success.

Jo Clubb

Jo Clubb is an international Sports Science Consultant. Her company, Global Performance Insights, provides sports science support to professional teams, practitioners, governing bodies, and sports tech companies around the world. 

Previously, she worked as an Applied Sports Scientist for the Buffalo Bills in the NFL, Buffalo Sabres in the NHL, as well as Chelsea Football Club and Brighton and Hove Albion in English soccer. She shares sports science education through her Global Performance Insights blog, YouTube channel, as well as scientific publications and textbooks.
