James has
 worked in elite level soccer for 15 years and has previously held roles with the Philadelphia Union and United States Soccer Federation. He will share firsthand experience and advice on the how, what, and whys of performance monitoring and the role of internal monitoring when it comes to: 

  • Communication between player and coach & between coaches 
  • Progressing the career of youth level athletes 
  • Supporting player well-being 

This session is suitable for coaches in any sport and will be useful for those supporting players during this unusual time and moving forward into traditional training and team setups.

Benjamin Jensen Director of North American Sales & Research

Benjamin is Director of North American Sales & Research for Firstbeat Sports. Born and raised in the United States, he now lives in Finland and has spent the last six years working with elite sports programs across all major sports to optimize performance and recovery with the help of Firstbeat. He also has experience in coaching, having worked within the Finnish American Football Association and as Head Coach of the Jyväskylä Jaguars American Football team.

James Wagenschutz Key Account Manager, Professional Sports USA & Academy Sport Scientist, Strength and Conditioning Coach

James splits his time between handling and supporting Firstbeat Sports key accounts in the United States and working with academy teams at MLS franchise, Colorado Rapids and is involved in data analysis, daily monitoring, managing strength and conditioning programming, and training periodization in collaboration with coaches. 

Previously, James spent time with Philadelphia Union and the United States Soccer Federation, as well as FC Boulder, Regis University and Colorado College. He is an M.Sc. graduate in Sports Medicine – Strength & Conditioning and is NSCA certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist.
