Q&A: Using HRV to Understand Load and Recovery

How can heart rate variability (HRV) help you understand your clients’ stress, training load, and recovery?

In this expert Q&A session, Dr. Bernadette Dancy shares practical insights on using HRV to guide exercise and wellness coaching. Together with Tiina Hoffman from Firstbeat, she explores real-life questions around training, recovery, weight management, and sleep.

This is a follow-up session to our recent webinar with Dr. Bernadette Dancy where we talked about Exercise Prescription and Stress: Using HRV to Understand Load and Recovery.

In the session, you’ll learn more about:

  • How to support and improve HRV through exercise and recovery
  • How to approach exercise when a client has very low HRV
  • How to balance training and weight management during a weight loss program
  • What HRV can reveal about a client’s overall load and recovery
  • How sleep and sleep quality fit into the bigger picture of wellbeing

Whether you work with exercise, health, or wellness, this session offers practical perspectives on how physiological data can support more individualized coaching.

Watch the Q&A recording and hear Bernadette’s expert insights.
